Terms of Service
By using MovieRex you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
What MovieRex is
A private movie and TV recommendation library. You add titles you've watched and your ratings; the bot pulls from what your group has recommended when you ask for picks.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older. MovieRex is currently invite-only — you need to be added to the allowlist by an existing group administrator.
Your account
We identify users by phone number. You're responsible for the security of the phone associated with your account. Don't share your verification codes with anyone.
Acceptable use
- Don't submit illegal, harassing, or abusive content.
- Don't spam the bot or attempt to abuse the recommendation system.
- Don't try to circumvent the allowlist, impersonate other users, or access another user's data without their permission.
- Don't reverse engineer or attempt to compromise the service.
Content you contribute
Recommendations and ratings you contribute become visible to other members of your group. You retain ownership; by submitting them, you grant us permission to use them to operate and improve the service (including training the recommendation model).
Third-party services
MovieRex relies on Anthropic (AI), The Movie Database (title metadata), Twilio (WhatsApp and SMS), Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), and Resend (email). Their terms also apply when their services are used on your behalf.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these terms or at our discretion. You may stop using the service at any time. Data deletion follows our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. Recommendations are based on your group's activity and our model — they're suggestions, not guarantees of quality.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of MovieRex.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept them. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
